1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy applies to Language Peek: Learn Languages, an Android application developed and published by Fehistro Studio, and the official companion website at languagepeek.fehistrostudio.pp.ua. For questions about this policy, use our Support page and the contact information on the Fehistro Studio website.
The app's learning features, advertising components and third-party services may change between versions. Where a feature is optional or not enabled in a particular release, the related information-processing activity may not occur. We update this notice when our actual practices materially change.
2. Learning information kept on the device
Language Peek may save the following information in private app storage: selected language, vocabulary you have seen, correct and incorrect responses, review dates and intervals, favorites, difficult-word history, quizzes, study streaks, progress totals, reminder preferences, daily goals, and optional floating-card settings. These are used to provide the features you choose.
The app does not require a Language Peek account to study. We do not operate an account-based cloud database of your vocabulary progress. A user-controlled export can save your study records in a JSON backup file in a location you choose through Android's document picker. That file can contain learning and review history and should be stored securely. Importing it can restore or replace existing progress depending on the backup format.
Android or the device manufacturer may offer device transfer and system backup features independently. Whether app data is included depends on the app version, system backup settings and device configuration. Do not rely on automatic cloud recovery of your study history.
3. Advertisements and Google's data processing
Language Peek is intended to be offered as a free app supported by advertising. Ad-supported versions may display advertisements delivered through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads; exact placements and formats depend on the installed version. Advertising may not be available on every device, in every location, or when consent or connectivity requirements are not met. The website itself does not display Google ads.
When Google Mobile Ads is active, Google reports that its SDK may automatically collect or share data used for displaying ads, measurement, security and fraud prevention, including:
- IP address, which can be used to infer an approximate location.
- App and advertising interactions, such as ad views, clicks, app launches and video interactions.
- App and device diagnostics, such as performance, crashes, energy use and launch time.
- Identifiers, which may include the Android advertising ID or app set ID when available and permitted.
Google and its advertising partners may process this information under their own terms and privacy notices. Whether an ad is personalized or non-personalized depends on your region, choices and Google configuration; non-personalized ads may still involve data needed for delivery and anti-fraud measures. Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit. We do not sell your locally stored learning history to advertisers.
For the provider's current explanations, see Google's Privacy Policy, Google Advertising Technologies and Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.
4. Advertising consent and your controls
Where required by law and supported by the installed app release, advertising privacy messages and choices may be presented through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) or another approved consent mechanism. Some versions may expose a Privacy Choices control for reviewing available options. Its availability varies with region and the app version. If you do not see it, your device may still offer advertising controls under Android Settings.
You may also review or reset the Android advertising ID and adjust ad-personalization controls supported by your device. Disabling personalization does not necessarily disable all ads. You can deny optional notifications or floating display permissions without needing to grant access to learn ordinary vocabulary.
5. Permissions and device services
- Notifications: if enabled, help remind you to review words; Android may delay delivery or require an explicit permission grant.
- Display over other apps: if you deliberately choose experimental floating vocabulary cards, Android may ask for special overlay permission. These cards are optional, dismissible, and may be blocked by the system, including over protected screens.
- Text-to-speech: playback uses the speech engine installed on your Android device. A system or third-party TTS provider may process speech requests under its own settings and policies, potentially including network access.
- Internet and network access: may be used in ad-supported versions for fetching ads and consent information. Offline vocabulary study does not itself require an app account.
- File picker: choosing to export or import a backup gives access only to the selected file or destination, not broad access to your photo library or other files.
Some options vary by version. The app is not intended to read the contents of other applications through its floating-card feature. Notification and overlay access can be changed in Android system settings.
6. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored learning information remains on your device until you remove it using supported app/device controls, clear app storage, or uninstall. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them until you delete them separately. Clearing app storage or uninstalling may permanently erase progress if you have not created a backup.
Because Language Peek does not operate its own user-account learning database, Fehistro Studio ordinarily cannot retrieve or delete learning history stored only on your device. Google and other system service providers control retention of information processed by their services under their own privacy policies and user controls.
7. Children and family use
Language Peek teaches beginner vocabulary with approachable illustrations, but age targeting and advertising settings must be configured appropriately for the specific Google Play release. We do not knowingly invite children to submit their personal details directly to Fehistro Studio through the app. If you believe that a child has shared personal information with us outside the app, please contact us through our Support page. Parents and guardians should review advertising, permissions and device settings before use.
8. This website and Cloudflare
This informational website uses locally hosted HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a simple local SVG illustration. We do not embed a web advertising SDK, Google Analytics, a contact form, social tracking pixels or external web fonts. We do not deliberately set marketing cookies on this website. Cloudflare, our website host and security provider, may process IP addresses, request details, security logs, and necessary security cookies or challenges when serving the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Following external links (including Google's notices, Fehistro Studio, or a future Google Play listing) takes you to another service governed by its own policies.
9. International processing and security
Third-party providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, according to their applicable safeguards and terms. The application stores learning records in Android's private app storage, but no software or data-transfer process can be guaranteed completely secure. Treat exported backup files as personal files and avoid sharing them publicly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, advertising technology, applicable requirements or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current public version. Material changes should be reflected in the app or Play listing where required.
